Mechanism of action
ALERANA^{^®} sprays directly affect hair roots Sprays intensify microcirculation in head skin, restore normal nourishment of hair follicles. Due to this, they stop intensive hair loss and stimulate new hair growth.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to minoxidil or other product components; age younger than 18 or older than 65 years; skin integrity damage; scalp dermatosis; simultaneous application of other medicines on head skin; pregnancy; breast-feeding.

Minoxidil 5%
The active component of ALERANA^{^®} sprays, minoxidil, affects hair roots directly. Minoxidil modifies vascular tone, improves nourishment and makes hair roots stronger due to the intensification of blood flow to head skin. Enhancement of blood circulation around a hair follicle makes it possible to give birth to a new healthy hair.
Thus, minoxidil stimulates transition of hair follicles from latent to active growth phase.

Minoxidil modifies hair follicle exposure to androgens; it reduces production of 5-alpha-dehydrotestosterone playing a significant role in hair loss, making minoxidil active, inter alia, for treatment of androgenic alopecia.

Application of ALERANA^{^®} can result in more intensive hair loss for some time, during the transition from the resting phase (telogen) to the growth phase (anagen). This is normal, accounted for by acceleration of metabolic processes in hair bulbs; however, only old hair are lost in such a case, that were to be lost within the next 2 months, and new hair begin to grow instead. This hair loss is temporary: usually, it is observed only within 2...6 weeks from the beginning of application.

External. Regardless of the treated area size apply 1 ml (7 clicks) 2 times per day.

Results of clinical studies

After 6 weeks of application:

in 87% of cases, excessive hair loss ends
during the tension test, reduction of the number of removed hair is observed, up to 80%. This fact demonstrates that the ALERANA^{^®} spray makes hair stronger already at initial stages of treatment, due to restoration of normal nourishment for hair follicles.
in 66% of cases, increase of the number of hair is observed during the anagen phase (hair growth phase)

After 4 months of treatment:

in 73% of cases, clinical recovery and significant improvement was observed, demonstrating high effectiveness of ALERANA ^® preparation in treatment of androgenic alopecia, excessive hair loss and baldness.
in 96% of cases, 2.7-times reduction of the number of hair in the telogen phase (the resting phase preceding the hair loss) was observed. The number of hair follicles in the growth phase increased by 20%, demonstrating that the active hair growth phase becomes longer.
on average, hair breadth increased by 41%
on average, hair thickness (i.e. hair number per unit area) increased by 29%.
